April showers at Berry Grove School

Hi everyone!

Today is the last day of April, and I’ve finished my story for the 'April Showers' challenge just in time!

You can find the link to my blog below if you’d like to read it:

  1. Dear Cutata,

I really enjoyed “April Showers at Berry Grove School”. You’ve created some wonderful settings (I’m absolutely delighted with the beautiful art room – it’s so colourful and inspiring). The group of Freya, Rumpus, David and Della worked really well together – even though at first I thought Freya had it in for poor Rumpus and David in particular. I was glad to hear that she did her best to make amends by bringing a box of chocolates. (Hopefully David and Rumpus enjoyed the treat – and perhaps shared a few chocolates with their classmates).
What a heart-warming story, brought to life in such beautiful illustrations. Great work!
I’ve also learnt a new saying… I had a good laugh at ‘Cats in gloves don’t catch mice’: I hadn’t heard that one before – but it makes sense in a way… and I’ll be adding it to my personal dictionary :P
I’m looking forward to more stories from Sweet Berry Valley, which always brighten up my day!

    Have a lovely 1st May!

  2. Hi Florence,

Thanks so much for your positive feedback!

In Spanish, we have a saying "Cats in gloves don't catch mice." I looked it up and it seems it exists in English too, though I'm not sure how common it is.

As you mentioned, the four classmates finally showed some great teamwork despite the initial confrontation with Rumpus and David.

It was a kind gesture for Freya to realize she needed to make up for teasing her friends. She actually told her father what happened in class, and he was the one who suggested bringing a box of chocolates.

Have a wonderful month of May!

  3. Hi Cutata!

Loved this little story! The children ended up finding a great theme for the assignment and the end result was adorable. Lovely pictures, as always. I loved the rain effects and the one of them working on the assignment at the table.

Have a wonderful week-end and a great month of May!

  4. Thanks so much Ayrell! In the end, it was great to see them working together. They even got a very good grade on their assignment! The box of chocolates definitely helped to smooth things over between Freya, Rumpus, and David. Hugs!
