2026 New Releases - Jan/Feb

Before we go over the new releases from March, here's a quick refresher on the new items from the first two months of 2026. This year has already brought us some exciting new families and sets, including some all new animal species arriving in Sylvanian land!

New Corgi Family (Feb 21 Release)

This new corgi family was released in February, and appears to be exclusive to the Online Shop and official SF stores. They can be ordered from Japan's Official Online Store.

The Corgi family: Mom wears a pink gingham dress with a brown bow, over fluffy white bloomers. Dad has a purple plaid shirt with a brown bowtie, and fluffy cream bloomers. Brother wears a blue gingham shirt with a green bowtie, and cream bloomers. One baby wears a purple gingham shirt with a yellow tie, and pink bloomers. The other has a green plaid shirt with a pink tie, and white bloomers. The sister wears a blue and pink gingham dress with a pink bow, and pink bloomers.

New Cottontail Rabbit Family (Feb 14 release)
These Cottontails in fancy new clothes were released in Japan in February.

A version of this family without the babies is also available on the Calico Critters Official Online Store (USA). The CC version of the family has a few minor clothing differences (no buttons). The CC family isn't listed as online exclusive, so North American collectors will hopefully be seeing these in stores soon, as well.

The Cottontail Rabbit family: Seven grey rabbit figurines with white muzzles. Mother wears a green hat and a dress with a green bodice, brown bow, and white skirt patterned with trees and houses. Father wears a light blue hat, pastel pink and blue suit, and a dark blue vest. His tie has a hot air balloon on it. Brother wears red pants along with a salmon shirt with a tree pattern and a blue tie. Sister wears a white frilly dress with a floral pattern, peach collar, brown bow, and teal underskirt. There are three laying infants: in blue, pink, and green frocks with hoods and peach bows.

Sylvanian Families Whipped Cream Keychain Kit - Chocolate Mint (January 17 Release)
This is a DIY kit that lets you assemble your own plastic desert to display alongside your Sylvanian keychain. Available on the Japanese Official Shop.

The kit contains: a Flora Rabbit standing baby figure. She wears a pastel mint green beret and a dress with a caramel-coloured collar, white upper, and mint bow. The dress' skirt has a melted chocolate pattern over mint and white stripes, and a white ruffled edge. The plastic desert keychains you can assemble are a white macaron with a bunny face on it, a bar of white chocolate with charms, or a brown eclair. The kit comes with mint-colored fake icing which holds the plastic desert pieces together when dried.

Flying Squirrel Family (March 14 Release)
This is an exciting new family and an all-new species joining the Sylvanian world. So far, they've only been released in Japan, but hopefully we'll soon see them gliding into stores in other countries too!
A set with two adult flying squirrels. They wear onesies with cloud patterns and fluffy flaps like the "wings" of a flying squirrel. There is also a sitting baby in a parasail.

A set with a kid flying squirrel who comes with 2 plastic balloons, and a crawling baby who comes with a hang glider.

Cottontail Rabbit's Floral Hideaway (March 7 Release)
This set comes with Angelica Cottontail and has been released in Japan.

The set in its box. There is a sitting grey Cottontail rabbit baby with a gold crown and yellow dress with purple details. She sits in a pale pink plastic egg decorated with pearly gold trim, pink, purple, and yellow flowers, and green foliage. The egg is supported by an ornate gold plastic base.

Character Encyclopedia book (Coming Oct 1)
This book is being published by Pan Macmillan and comes with a Chocolate Rabbit standing baby in a cute pink bow and floral pink & white dress. It's available for pre-order in the UK.

Exclusive Forest Baby Concierge Keychains (Store Exclusive)
These keychains are exclusive to certain stores in Japan (more details here).

Two standing baby keychains. Creme Chocolate, a white rabbit with brown eartips, wears a dress with a pink spotted neck kerchief, white and pink upper, and blue skirt with pink trim. She also wears a blue beret. Caleb Fennec Fox wears a blue beret, orange neck kerchief, white and orange shirt, and blue pants with yellow trim.

What do you all think of these new releases? We've had some pretty exciting stuff already this year, and March has just delivered some very cool stuff that I'm excited to go over in my next post!

  1. Wow - amazing new outfits on all of them! I'd like to invite Cottontail family to Carrot Field Hollows - and might think of having the posh Corgi Family as 'tourists' in Purrchester... Thank you for showing them to us, Skylark!

  3. I was able to get the new Cottontail Rabbits for my birthday last week! their clothes are SO cute, they remind me of the backgrounds to the old calico critter site from early 2000s.
I love the corgi outfits too! and flying squirrels are a fun addition to the line

    1. Congratulations on your bunny haul (and your birthday)! I also bought the new Cottontail set (complete with triplets) as they looked great. Around my birthday time too, but I didn't use that as a reason! I added them to my extended Cottontail family and it occurred to me - with the exception of granddad Winston, this large group of bunnies have never featured in a story. They really must!

The new corgis and flying squirrels have yet to reach my village - and the new hamsters are notably absent too. Why are they so addictive? 😀

  4. I saw some of these in person on a family holiday to Japan in February, and I can confirm that the new version of the Cottontail family is GORGEOUS. I didn't buy them, as I already have Cottontails, but I was sorely tempted by their wonderful clothes! The concierge keychains were also very cute (but I didn't buy them, either! I'll have to post pictures of the things I did buy one day soon...)
